Understanding Litho Film, Plates & Negatives — And Why They Need Proper Disposal
Lithographic film, plates and negatives are used in the pre-press stage of offset printing — turning artwork into the physical positives or negatives that transfer an image onto a printing plate. Print houses, packaging manufacturers and publishers across Johannesburg and Gauteng generate this film continuously as part of everyday production.
Once a print run is finished, that film can't simply go in general waste. Beyond the environmental impact of landfilling used film, it often carries client artwork, branding and print job details, so secure, compliant disposal matters for confidentiality as much as for the environment.
- Covers litho film, printing plates and film negatives
- Keeps client artwork and print job details confidential
- Processed in full compliance with South African NEMWA regulations
